Amsterdam Merit Scholarships for Excellent International Students

Brief description:

Depending on the faculty, the scholarship can vary between €2,000 – €25,000.  The Amsterdam Merit Scholarship can sometimes be supplemented with the Holland Scholarship, of which the University of Amsterdam is a participating member.

  • University of Geneva Excellence Masters Fellowships

    Brief description:
    The Faculty of Science of the University of Geneva, in collaboration with several sponsors, has established an Excellence Fellowship Program to support outstanding and highly motivated candidates who intend to pursue a Master of Science in any of the disciplines covered by the Faculty.

    The University of Gothenburg International Scholarships

    Brief description:
    The Admissions Office at the University of Gothenburg administers scholarships intended for fee-paying applicants, who have applied in the first admission round via universityadmissions.se for one or several two-year Master’s Programmes with entry autumn semester 2017.

    Ampère Excellence Scholarships for International Students

    Brief description:
    The Ampère Scholarships of Excellence provide excellent international students with the opportunity to pursue one of the eligible Masters programs offered at ENS de Lyon.

    JFUNU Scholarships for MSc in Sustainability Programme for Developing Country Students

    Brief description:
    The Japan Foundation for UNU (JFUNU) Scholarship is available for outstanding applicants from developing countries who can demonstrate a need for financial assistance and who are admitted to the Master of Science in Sustainability Programme at United Nations University – Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability (UNU-IAS).

    Applicants for the Master of Science in Sustainability are required to have met the following admission requirements by the application deadline in order to be considered:
    • A strong interest in sustainability studies.
    • Demonstrated commitment to study and understand global issues.
    • A completed bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) from a recognized university or institution of higher education in a field related to sustainability. Those who expect to graduate and have a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent conferred before September 2017 may also apply.
    • A GPA of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale on the bachelor’s degree earned.
    • English language proficiency. The minimum score requirements for English language qualifications required by UNU-IAS are: 600 in TOEFL – Paper-Based Testing (PBT); 100 in TOEFL – Internet-Based Testing (IBT); 7.0 in IELTS – Academic format.
    The eligibility requirements for the scholarships are as follows:
    • Applicants must be persons from developing countries* who can demonstrate a need for financial assistance
    • Applicants who are currently living in Japan under a working visa are NOT eligible for the scholarship
    • Applicants who want to pursue a second master’s degree at UNU-IAS are not eligible for the scholarship

    Danish State Tuition Fee Waivers and Scholarships at Roskilde University

    Brief description:
    A limited number of Danish state tuition fee waivers and scholarships are offered to highly talented students at graduate level, who come from countries outside of the EU/EEA and need a residence permit to study at Roskilde University.

    Government of Flanders Master Mind Scholarships for International Students

    Brief description:
    The Government of Flanders launches a new scholarship program, Master Mind Scholarships that aims to promote the internationalization of the Flemish Higher Education.  It awards up to 45 scholarships to outstanding Master students from all countries.

    International Ambassador Scholarships at University of West London

    Brief description:

  • Adelaide Scholarships International (ASI)

    Brief description:
    The University of Adelaide offers Adelaide Scholarships International (ASI) to attract high quality overseas postgraduate students to areas of research strength in the University of Adelaide to support its research effort.

    International applicants must not hold a research qualification regarded by the University of Adelaide to be equivalent to an Australian Research Doctorate degree or, if undertaking a Research Masters degree, not hold a research qualification regarded by the University of Adelaide to be equivalent to or higher than an Australian Research Masters degree.
    International applicants who have not provided evidence of their meeting the minimum English language proficiency requirements for direct entry by the scholarship closing date, or who have completed a Pre-Enrolment English Program to meet the entry requirements for the intended program of study, are not eligible.
    Candidates are required to enrol in the University of Adelaide as ‘international students’ and must maintain ‘international student’ status for the duration of their enrolment in the University. Citizens and Permanent Residents of Australia, and citizens of New Zealand are ineligible.

    Türkiye Graduate Scholarships for International Students

    Brief description:
    Türkiye Scholarships are intended for candidates from all over the world who want to pursue Master and PhD studies in Turkey.

    • Candidates who will apply for a master’s degree must be born not earlier than 01.01.1987, whereas candidates for PhD degree must be born not earlier than 01.01.1982.
    • Candidates who will apply for Türkiye Scholarships must have graduated from an appropriate program with respect to the scholarship level they are applying for (e.g. have a university diploma if applying for a master program, or hold a master’s degree if applying for a PhD program), or be able to graduate at the end of the current academic year.
    • Turkish citizens and those who have lost Turkish citizenship for any reason cannot apply for Türkiye Scholarships.
    • Candidates cannot be currently enrolled in academic program in Türkiye at the level they will apply for.
    • Candidates are expected to have a required degree of academic achievement with respect to the scholarship and program level they are applying for (you may find the academic achievement grades required by scholarship programs at www.turkiyeburslari.gov.tr).
